Hugh was a kind and gentle soul. I think his heart was always thinking of Briar Island. He never spoke unkind of anyone.It was always a pleasure working with him at the Trade Center and Metro Center. We will miss you Hugh. Our thoughts are with his family.

Dear DERBY Family, I met Gerard almost 23 years ago because I commented on a hair style and was told "Go see Gerard". So I did and needless to say was sorry when he stopped cutting hair. Gerard was so easy to be with, a very quiet, gentle, unassuming kind of guy. I too shared his love for flowers/ photography and treasure some of his great shots of dahlia's from the Public Gardens. We had many chats at the kiosk where I worked and will miss him. I remain friends with Andrea Atkinson ( I met through Gerard) and share some happy memories.

Hugh was a very generous brother. Mike got up on his lap the first afternoon he got here in December, something he has never done at any time. Animals have great instincts. We will miss him at Christmas, he came down seven out of the eight years since we moved to Florida. Always put the tree and decorations up, wrapped for Charlie and brought many gifts, including several for the cat. Love, Deanna & Charlie

I met Gerard 22 years ago in Halifax. He was a sweet and gentle guy. He went all out every christmas. He just loved to decorate. And he loved his cat. I am sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family.
