William Brian Troniak

Life Legacy


TRONIAK, William Brian – age 71 of Wilmot, formerly of the Red Lake Ontario region and Thunder Bay, Ontario passed away on Monday June 11, 2012 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on November 22, 1940 to the late William and Stephie (Miske) Troniak, he grew up on his beloved McKenzie Island, ON. Very active in sports, he enjoyed curling, softball, hockey, downhill skiing and golf. He excelled in several of them. Brian served with the RCAF in Greenwood in the late 50’s to mid 60’s. Although he then devoted his career efforts to the educational field, he never lost his passion for aviation, establishing and administering aircraft maintenance and aviation manufacturing programs. He earned a BSc AME from Northrop University in Inglewood, California and later a MEd from UNB, Fredericton. His teaching and college administrative career was divided between Confederation College, Thunder Bay and Lakeland College, Vermilion, Alberta. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Forester). They recently celebrated 47 years of marriage. His sons, Chris (Marilu); David (Julie) and Bill (Susan) all of Calgary, AB and by his daughter, Elizabeth (George) Molyannis, London, ON; brother, Mel (Jean) and family of Pierceland, SASK; grandchildren, Tanner, Alicia and Stephanie and several nieces and nephews. One of Brian’s goals in the last weeks of his life was to attend Elizabeth and George’s wedding on June 2, 2012 in St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Auburn, NS. He was happy to have met that goal. He was predeceased by his father, William in 1980 and by his mother, Stephie in January, 2012. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Friday, June 15, 2012 in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Auburn with Father Charles Bull officiating. A heartfelt thanks to Soldiers Memorial Hospital for such considerate care, the VON; the Palliative Care Team led by Dr. Burgess, the Mid Valley Palliative Care Group. Our grateful thanks to Doctors Brooks, Goddard, Merriweather, Sue Robinson, Henteleff and Doctors Elizabeth Jackson and Ian Ross, and to Sue VanOosten, BScN. The support and help we have had from our church family and from Father Charles Bull at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Auburn has been outstanding. Grateful thanks also from the entire family goes out to our wonderful relatives, friends and terrific neighbours. Thank you.
