Dave MannLew was a GREAT guy and longtime friend of many of us at Wood-Mizer US. What I always appreciated about Lew was his honest and humble approach to everything he did, letting his actions always speak louder than his words! He provided us a great example of what it means to work hard & to do what you say you will do for others. He has left a lasting mark on many. We thank God for the unique gifts and talents Lew shared with us through the years and sincerely thank his family for sharing him with us. God bless you all in this time of great loss. 07/03/2012

Jake UrquhartWe were very sorry to learn of Lew's passing. For a great many years we saw him doing demos with Woodmizers at various equipment shows which we also attended as exhibitors. We also had an opportunity to work with him in assisting in finalizing some leases for his customers on Woodmizers. Gordon Emery LewisDear Family, Laurel, Ian and Jason, Elizabeth and Bob, his sisters Laura, Susan and Bother Peter,I grieve with you all at the sudden departure, I hold Lew in my memories since we used to visit at Sable River and Tussle on the grounds around the Green houses and frog pond, to visits out west when he first started dating Laurel and wearing a Stetson( tears under his eyes for those western sun sets). Then finally on several occasions Visiting in Aylesford, and finally being a little jealous of the fine fresh cut timber framed teaching centre at the Harrison Lewis Coastal Discovery Centre. An amazing life filled with kindness and Insight. Rest in Peace in that "Sea Bound Coast". I plan to visit as soon as possible. 07/05/2012

Bruce VierhellerI met Lew at Southwest High School in St. Louis Mo. We ran cross country/track together & had hilarious & outstanding times together. I felt like one of the family at his parents home in the Missouri Botanical Gardens. I'm happily married, have a beautiful daughter & now living in San Diego and soon am going to be retired from UCSD. I had always promised myself I was going to visit Lew and his family once I had the chance. You are dearly missed Lew. I will never forget you. My love to Robert, Elizabeth, Laura, Susan, Peter and to his wife and kids. Bruce Vierheller07/09/2012

Carroll McCormickI just heard yesterday (July 11) through the grapevine that Lew died. My thoughts go out to you Laurel, Ian and Jason. I spent some very good hours with Lew, in the field and in the barn. We had good talks about logs, the behaviour of wood, his grand wood stove and other good stuff. I never have any trouble pulling up the sound of his wonderful drawl. Good memories, my friend. Thank you! 07/12/2012
