Life Legacy
BLINN, Mary "Norma" - 75, of Kingston passed away surrounded by her loving family early on July 6th, 2012 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton following a long and courageous battle with COPD/emphysema. Born in Bartholomew, NB on May 10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Rose Burns. Prior to her marriage to André (Andy) Blinn in 1958 she was employed by the "T" Eaton Co. office in Moncton, NB. Married life as a military spouse took Norma to Chatham, NB; France; Ottawa and finally settled in the Kingston-Greenwood area since 1971. Norma was employed by Canada Post until her retirement in 2000. Family meant the world to Norma. Besides her husband, she is survived by her four children - Paul (Connie); Mary (Bill); Betty (Richard) and Sharon (Dennis). She is also survived by two granddaughters - Alana and Jillian; two sisters - Verna and Loretta; one brother- Allan; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by brothers Dennis and Bob; and sisters Louise and Leona. Many thanks to the ER department & 3rd floor Medical Unit at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, and Dr. McGuire, Dr. Yafai and Dr. Gordon for all of their kindness and care during this time. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Visitation will be held 7-9PM Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Middleton Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church, Middleton with Father Gerald Saulnier and Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Private family interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston. Family flowers only please.
