VANTASSELL, Constance “Joanne” – 73 of Middleton, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Digby, she was a daughter of the late René and Eva (Banks) Richard. Joanne was employed at Canadian Tire in Toronto and Greenwood for many years. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed knitting and just helping people out. She is survived by daughters Cheryl King, Salem, Oregon; Karen VanTassell, Angus, ON; Judith Anne VanTassell, Middleton, NS; Lorna VanTassell, Toronto. Sisters Antoinette (Carl) Alcorn, Halifax; Jacqueline (Pierre) Allard, Kanata, ON; Irene Morrow, Barrie, ON; Sharon Asmah, Toronto; Andrea (Colin) MacMillan, Bedford, NS. Brothers Michael Richard, Westminster, BC and Paul Richard, Toronto. Grandchildren Jason, Patrick, Stephanie, Josh and Michael; great grandchildren Dylan and Nathan. She was predeceased by her husband Rodney; son Peter and brother René. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 15th in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with a Salvation Army Chaplain officiating.
