Vacheresse (Grandy) Shirley Joyce – 84 of Berwick, formerly of Aylesford and Kingston, NS passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Ottawa, ON she was the daughter of the late G/C Roy Stanley Grandy, OBE and Lillias (Collett) Grandy. Her childhood was spent at air force bases in Canada where her father was C/O. Shirley graduated from Bishop Spencers College, St. John’s NFLD in 1945. After her marriage to Harold in 1949, she continued living the military life while Harold pursued his career in the RCAF. She was a stay at home mom for her children. Shirley enjoyed reading, antiques, photographs, classical music and the odd martini. She is survived by daughter, Deirdré (John) Clark, Aylesford; son, Michael Vacheresse, AB; grandchildren, Mandy, John Jr. (Keisha), and Erica Clark, all of NS; Clifford (Catherine) and Meagan Vacheresse all of AB; two great grandsons, Ethan and Logan Clark of NS. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including her special niece Shirley Glenn-Vance, ON. Shirley was predeceased by her husband of nearly 58 years, Harold; sons, Ian and Mark; sisters, Joan (Jack) Watson and Hope (Doug) Glenn and nephew Bill Glenn. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8th in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Auburn, The Reverend Charles Bull officiating. Private interment will be in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Middleton. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to St. Mary’s Memorial Fund, c/o St. Mary’s Church, P.O.
