Abbie "June"
Gorman
June 23, 1933 – March 17, 2025
With heartfelt gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Abbie "June" (White) Gorman, 91 of Wilmot. She passed away in the early hours of Monday, March 17, 2025 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born on Noel Rd, Hants County, June was the daughter of the late Henry and Abbie (Ettinger) White. She leaves behind daughters Gail (John) Price, Faye (Trent) Johansen, Kim (Brian) Clark, Pam (Paul) Pace, who will all miss her dearly. She was a proud and loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, June was predeceased by her beloved husband Oswald (Ozzie); brothers David and Donald; sisters Loretta and Phyllis.
Mum was a dedicated mother and wife. Family was everything to her. You just had to look at the pictures on the walls, mantel and refrigerator. She was an avid Blue Jays fan and rarely missed watching a game.
While exploring her many talents through community classes, Mum eventually found her passion in rug hooking, winning many awards and sharing her work. She found joy playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. Playing bridge with her cherished friends became her main interest and love.
Mum was an active member of Kingston United Church. Our mother's legacy is her faith in God. She cheated death most of her life but always relied on God to help her through. We are all grateful for her example of courage, strength and faith. Despite the advanced stage of her long battle with kidney disease, mom stayed active and independent to the very end.
Her greatest wish was to remain in her home, the home she and our father built together so many years ago. Pam lovingly dedicated herself to making sure that happened.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Janet Welton and her palliative care team for their support.
In keeping with Mum's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025 in Kingston United Church with Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. Interment in North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Kingston United Church or Carey Me organization. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street.
