Obituary

WENTZELL, Ada Mae - 88 of Middleton and formerly of Brickton, Annapolis County, passed away in Middleton on Friday, June 27, 2014. Born in Torbrook Mines, she was a daughter of the late Almon and Alice (Judge) Johnson. At the age of 14, Ada left school to earn a living as a housekeeper and Nanny. In 1942 at the age of 17, she married Simeon Wentzell. Ada worked hard throughout her life at various businesses, raising her family and later caring for her husband Simeon. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Gary Reid) Wentzell, Porter's Lake; son David William "Bill" (Sharon) Wentzell, Nictaux; sister Olga Conrad, Bridgewater; grandchildren Gary Reid, Trevor Wentzell, Melanie Thistle; great grandchildren Emma and Austin. Ada was predeceased by her husband Simeon; brothers Phillip, Wesley and Allison; sisters Orme Woodbury and Olive Uhlman. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown, Pastor Lester Simpson officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. The family wishes to thank the former owners of Middleton Manor, Dean Snelling and David for the many kind gestures bestowed on our mother Ada.
