BANKS, Aileen "Lois" ~ Age 92, of Mount Hanley, Annapolis Co., passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born on December 14, 1931, in Toronto, York Co., Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Francis H. and Beulah F. (Hill) Boyes. Lois loved her family and time spent with her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed audio books and the Christmas season. Lois was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her six children, Pam (Mark) Moore, North Williamston; Joe Banks (Janet Nichols), Kingston; Tim and Patrick Banks, both of Mount Hanley; Michael Banks, North Williamston; Dale (Merrill) Fraser, Blockhouse; grandchildren, Sherri Moore (Dwight Hines), Greenwood; Theresa (Jacob) Carr, Lloydminster, Alberta; Matthew (Kelly) Banks, Dartmouth; Nichole (Ben) Garonce, Eastern Passage; Natasha (Tylor) Farrell and Travis (Nicole) Fraser, both of Bridgewater; Josie Banks (Austin Graves), Kingston; great grandchildren, Dominik and Milo Tringle; MacKenzie, Cameron and Kaylee Carr; Gemma McCarthy; Ryan, James and Luke Banks; Lydia Graves; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Mae (Tom) Workman, Clara Banks and Ruby Banks. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wallace W. Banks; daughter-in-law, Patricia Banks; sisters, Joan (Bill) Vennard; Fern (Roy) Russell; Helen (Ron) Peace; brother, Eugene Green; niece, Jo-Anne Peace; nephews, David Green; Billy and Stephen Vennard; Brian Russell. There will be no visitation. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Leon Langille officiating, with interment in Hillside Cemetery, Port George. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of one's choice.
