METCALFE, Alan Keith ~ age 77 of Nictaux, NS passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Failsworth, Lancashire, England he was a son of the late Eric and Renee (Wrigley) Metcalfe. Alan retired as a textile chemist having been employed with various companies in both the United Kingdom and Canada. He was a member of St. John's United Church, Middleton and a member of the church choir. Alan adored animals, enjoyed reading, playing the organ and sewing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Miller, Nictaux; daughter, Victoria (David) Marshall, Aylesford and her mother, Christine Walker, Tillsonburg, ON; step-daughter, Carrie (Michael) Madill, Woodstock, ON; step-son, Brad (Joanne) Fallowfield, Bridgetown; sister, Vivienne (David) Shorrock, Oxford, England; grandson Lucas Patrick Marshall and step-granddaughter Andrea Gilmar. In keeping with Alan's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.
