Alice Joyce Burchett

Burchett, Alice Joyce – 98, of Wilmot, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026 in Tibbett’s Home for Special Care, Wilmot. Born in Lower Argyle, Yarmouth County, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Nickerson) Hurley.

Alice was very proud of her 30-year career with MT&T and her lifetime membership with the Telephone Pioneers. Family was so important to Alice, and she cherished time spent at Zwicker’s Lake. She was an avid crib player. Alice was an active member in the Middleton Baptist Church community and choir until she was 90. In recent years, she became a beloved member of the Tibbett’s Home for Special Care family.

Surviving are her step-daughter, Wendy Bussell, Toronto, ON; niece, Linda (Greg) Gates, Bedford; nephews, Glenn (Stefani) Hurley, South Farmington; Blair Hurley (Jodie Coles), North Bay, ON; great nieces and nephews, Jarred (Julie) Gates, Bedford; Monica Gates, Bedford; Braeden (Amy) Hurley, East York, ON; great great nieces and nephews, Jack, Jude, Brody, and Claire.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth Bussell, and her second husband, Roy Burchett; brother Keith Hurley; half-brothers Arthur Hurley, Earl Forbes; stepsister, Genevieve Betts; and sister-in-law, Marjorie (Salzman) Hurley.

The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to all the staff at Tibbett’s for their loving care and compassion for Alice during her time there. A special thank you to Dr. Kevin McGuire for his professionalism and care as well.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Elizabeth Amirault officiating.
