HATFIELD, Alice "Ruby" Viola of Coaldale, Alberta and formerly of Greenwood passed away September 17, 2011 at the age of 88. Born in Halifax March 23, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Annie (Himmelman) Cowell. Ruby was a former member of Evangeline Rebekah Lodge #32 and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by daughters, Alice (Ernest) Long, Coaldale, Alberta, Christine (Wayne) Cook and Betty (Neil) Hymas both of Cokeville, Wyoming and sons, David, Wilmot and Raymond (Brenda), Greenwood; daughter in law Suzanne Hatfield, Yarmouth, NS; 17grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great- great- grandchildren. Ruby was predeceased by her husband Lorne and a son Lorne. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00PM Friday, September 23, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ward Road, Greenwood. Interment will be in Trinity United Church Cemetery, Parrsboro. By request, family flowers only.
