BALFOUR, Allan Ralph ~ Age 75, of Greenwood, Kings Co., formerly of Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born on September 11, 1946, in Campbellton, N.B., he was a son of the late Hermen and Beatrice (Cook) Balfour. Allan made a career as a movie theatre manager in various locations in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, affectionately remembered by his staff, retiring after 35 years. In his retirement he worked on a part time basis at R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, providing assistance when the need arose and was considered the best employee and friend to the staff and the families he served. Later moving in with his daughter and son-in-law, where Allan lived for 16 years eventually settling in the Annapolis Valley. He was a dedicated grandfather and parental figure to his grandsons. He was a regular attender, an enthusiastic cheerleader and winner of many 50/50 draws of his grandsons hockey games. Surviving are his only daughter, Angela (Kevin) Hape, Greenwood; grandsons, Connor (Emily Bond), Cameron and Carson; sisters, Nancy (Mike) Doucet and Sally Balfour, both of Springhill; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Balfour of Toronto; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former Regina G. "Dinah" Simmons; sister, Suzan Balfour; brothers, Robert and Raymond Balfour. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m., Monday evening in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448, from where the funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, with Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau officiating. Interment will take place in St. John Bosco's Cemetery, Dalhousie, N.B., at a later date. Due to current provincial pandemic restrictions it is now required to show proof of ID and full vaccination at all indoor and outdoor ceremonies.
