Obituary

WHITE, Allan Reid 71, Tremont, died peacefully on September 21, 2010, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Mount Hanley, he lived most of his life in Tremont. At age 15, Allan was baptized in Kingston United Baptist Church along with his dad and sister, Lee. He then became a longtime member of Tremont United Baptist Church. Allan worked for many years as a carpenter. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, and writing songs. He participated in many local benefit and community concerts over the years. The family remembers fondly a two hour concert held several years ago in Harmony, where all of the songs performed were written by Allan. Allan was predeceased by his parents, Everett and Winnifred; and brother, Richard. He leaves behind his children, Terry (Michelle), Greg (Annita), Tony (Cindy), Tammy (Mike), and Laren; grandchildren, Kristen, Laura, Nicole, Jesse, Joseph, David, Jonathon, and Anthony; sisters, Rose (Don Snider), Lee (Ed Boutilier), and sister-in-law, Lilla White. Allan had a special place in our hearts and was dearly loved by all, including nieces, nephews, and friends. Donations can be made in Allens memory to Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral will be held Friday, September 24, at 2 p.m. in Annapolis Valley Community Church of the Nazarene, Tremont, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Burial to follow in New Tremont Cemetery.
