April 2, 1934 – February 21, 2023
Palmer, Alton Edgar – age 88 formerly of Millville (more recent the Fundy Villa in Berwick), passed away on Tuesday February 21 st 2023 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Millville, he was a son of the late Claude and Beatrice (Blanchard) Palmer. Alton had several careers over the years but last and what he was most proud of was owning and running Palmers Fibreglass in Millville. He also loved to farm and could often be found on his Massey Ferguson tractor plowing a field or pushing up rocks or whatever could be found using his beloved tractor. Over the years he was involved with many groups including Boy Scouts, Chamber of Commerce, Millville Community Hall, and the Masonic Lodge in Aylesford. Alton was a husband, father, grandfather and brother and was very proud of his large family. Alton will be missed by many but especially his special friend Phyllis Beattie.
Alton is survived by his children: David (Karen) Palmer, Berwick; Andrew (Sheila) Palmer, North Alton; Marsha (Brad) Strum, Bedford; Suzanne (Laurie) Saunders, Berwick; Stephen (Cheryl) Palmer, Berwick; Brad (Gail) Palmer, Berwick; Darren (Ivy) Palmer, Factorydale; Allister (Marla) Palmer, Millville; Deanne (Paul) Corkum, Aylesford; Sister, Janet (David) Lowe, Berwick; Grandchildren, Devon, Lyle, Brianne, Adam, Amy, Christopher, Jay, Jessilyn, Samantha, Nichole, Jacqueline, Gregory, Christina, Logan, Alex, Kurt, John, Travis, Allana, Natalie, Laura, Paisley, Kedrick and all their loving families and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Alton was predeceased by his wife Darlene and brother Carl Palmer.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville who took such great care of Alton for many months until his passing, it was truly amazing the care that was given.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday February 25 th at the Berwick Lions Hall from 2:00-4:00 pm Rev. Chad Clements will speak at 3:00pm. Private family interment service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alton's memory to the Alzheimer Society Nova Scotia, Valley Regional Hospital, or a charity of one's choice.
