FRASER, ANDREW S. - It is with immense sadness that the family of Andrew Fraser announces his sudden and unexpected death on May 22, 2015 in Halifax NS at the age of 24. Born in Winnipeg, MB on December 28, 1990, Andrew excelled in school and participated in a variety of sports including hockey, baseball and football. Andrew was a 2009 honours graduate of Kings-Edgehill School earning acceptance and a scholarship to attend Dalhousie University under the Canadian Armed Forces Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP). In a life cut far too short, far too early, Andrew made indelible impressions on all those with whom he came in contact. His ability to engage knowledgably on a wide range of issues, his sense of humour and his desire to always do the right thing made him an individual of great quality and character. Andrew was a sensitive and caring person with a kind heart and gentle soul, who always treated others with kindness, politeness and respect. His maturity and engaging personality rewarded him with admiration and esteem from everyone he met. Andrew is survived by his father Steve, mother Lisa and brother Bradley. Andrew is also survived by his beloved gran Madeline along with several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews on both sides of his family and his girlfriend Melinda. Steve will miss the long and always interesting conversations, Lisa will miss the connection with a loving son and Bradley will miss the protection, pride and love that only an older brother can provide. All will miss the promise of a future that would have been so much better had it continued to include Andrew. The family feels the tremendous loss and desperate sadness of losing Andrew at such a young age and so early in his life, yet in equal measure appreciate that each of their lives have been made better and more fulfilled by his having been a part of them. In keeping with family wishes, a small graveside ceremony will be held at the North Kingston cemetery at 2:00 PM, Saturday May 30, 2015 with Padre Rosemarie Harty officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
