BALCOM, Ann Marie ~ age 64 of Nictaux West, NS passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2024 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton surrounded by her family. Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late John and Constance (Gilroy) O'Rourke. Ann Marie loved helping people and cared more for others than herself. She enjoyed children and was always willing to help look after her grandchildren and their friends. Ann Marie was a huge Montreal Canadiens fan and enjoyed her trips to the beach. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Brian Balcom; daughter, Andrea Balcom, Kentville; son, Steven Balcom (Erin Arsenault), Kensington, PEI; brothers, John O'Rourke, Nictaux; Mike (Cheryl) O'Rourke, Murray Corner, NB; stepbrothers, Rick (Jody) Lupton, Bear River; Ron Lupton, Saskatchewan; grandchildren, Ethan Harris; Evan Harris and Sophie and Nellie Balcom-Arsenault as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Tom Lupton and stepbrother, Jim Lupton. In keeping with Ann Marie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Monday, April 29, 2024 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448 with Rev. Jeff Milne officiating.
