Ann Melinda
Caldwell
July 5, 2023
I t is with shattered hearts the family of Ann Melinda Caldwell, age 62 of Middleton, announce her passing on July 5, 2023 after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Middleton, NS, Ann was the daughter of Frank Evans Illsley and Carolyn Grace Walker. Ann was full of life, she loved to laugh, she always had the best stories and loved a good adventure. Her favorite place to be was by the shore, she loved all animals but her cat Cruiser was the apple of her eye.
She loved her parents and was eternally grateful for her dad, her rock, who was there for her whenever she needed him. Family meant everything to Ann and she loved nothing more than family get togethers, bingo nights at her dad's with her sisters and trips to New Brunswick to visit her brother. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her sister Myleta's grandchildren, treating them as if they were her own (always sitting at the "kid's table" so she could spend more time with them).
Ann was a member of the Lawrencetown and District Lions Club, she loved to be busy and was always ready to help anyone that might need a hand. Whenever she was visiting family she loved to check the gardens for beautiful flowers and was always on the hunt for treasures, just like her mother used to do.
She is survived by her daughter Krista Hauschild (Rick), son Wayne Caldwell, grandson River, father Frank (Marianne), sisters Myleta (Arnie) and Jane (Brad), brother Frank Jr, nieces and nephews: Karen (Joe), Marty (Amanda), Jennifer, Jeremy (Lynn) and Amy (Aleem). Great nieces and nephew Ian, Emma, Kaylee, Sierra, Britney and Anaya. Ann was predeceased by her mother Carolyn.
Ann's family would like to thank Dr. Melanson and the staff of Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Medical Floor for the exceptional care they provided.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Ann graciously donated her body to Dalhousie University Medical Centre for their studies. Donations in memory of Ann may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
