DENT, Anne Patricia ~ Age 89, of Greenwood, Kings Co., passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton, surrounded by family.  Born on April 6, 1935, in Lincoln, England, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Leaman) Whitworth.

Anne loved to knit and send cards to all she knew and loved. She enjoyed drawing and very rarely did you receive a card or letter without a drawing included. Anne was the first woman councilor elected in North Bay, Ontario. She was a long-time employee of Wades Enterprises. Anne had the privilege of cutting the ribbon at the grand opening of Sobey's in Greenwood. Anne was a long-time member of Valley Pearls of Greenwood.

Surviving are her children, Sharron Leahy (Dave) and Ian Dent (Bonnie); daughter-in-law, Joanne; grandchildren, Andrea, Jessica, Kristy, Kaylie, David, Samantha, Cody, Jocelyn and Krisanne; great grandchildren, Colby, Gavin, Owen, Liam, Lily, Emma, Chase, Savannah, Wesley, Deegan, Spencer, Carter, Emmett, Addisyns, Macin and Ashton.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roy "Ray" Dent; son, Stephen "Bucky" Dent; great grandson, Connor Meilke; brothers, William and Joseph; sisters, Margaret, Betty, Mary and Nan.

Memorial Service will take place 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2024 , in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Sue Channen officiating.  Interment will be in North Kingston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or to your favourite charity.
