FILIPPONE, Anthony Robert "Tony" ~ age 89, of Berwick, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on November 5, 1935, in Halifax, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Eileen (Shute) Filippone. Tony was a long-time member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish, Berwick and a life member of the Berwick & District Lions Club. He had worked as sales manager at the Berwick Bakery until his retirement. In years past Tony loved hunting and fishing as well as canoeing and trips to Keji National Park. He loved to dance, playing bingo and chauffeuring people around in the local area who needed transportation. Surviving are sons, Michael (Delcia) Filippone, Berwick; Bradley Filippone, Halifax; grandchildren, Christopher (Telicia) and Korinne; great grandchildren, Kaydem and Elijah; nephews, Stephen (Denise), Robert (the late Susan) and David Chase; several great nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, the former Joyce A. Pritchard; sister, Anne in infancy. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 120 Mill Street, Berwick. Rev. Fr. Michael Walsh officiating, with a reception in the Parish Centre. Interment will be in Berwick Cemetery.
