Arden "Lester" Pierce

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on July 30th, 2026, of our beloved Arden Lester Pierce, of Meadowvale, known more commonly as "Lester" or "Let" by those fortunate enough to be in his circle. He was the fourth child of Archie L and Vera N. Pierce (Byles) of Margaretsville. He is pre-deceased by his parents, and wife; his life-long companion and spouse Charlotte Pierce (Hiltz). He was also pre-deceased by five siblings; Joyce Pierce, Melvyn G. Pierce, Carolyn Veinott, and Russell C. Pierce. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Ann Simpson (Troy), his son Christopher Allen Pierce and grandson Seth Christopher Gordon Simpson; brothers Raymond J. (Liz) Pierce, Keith A. Pierce, Michael F. Pierce; sisters Noreen (Micheal) Fallis and Linda Pierce, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lester was born in Margaretsville on December 6th, 1949. He grew up in a large family focused on farming and fishing and possessed endless skills with his hands and an acutely active mind. He worked and loved his work as a skilled tradesman and engaged in this all of his life except for an early period working on his fishing boat plying the Bay of Fundy. Known as a builder and renovator of homes and pubs and a man who could repair anything of a wood, steel, electrical, or mechanical nature he was best known as a person who cared for those around him. He had an indelible propensity to help others and with his gifts he solved or mitigated the problems of many, devoting much of his time and energy to this. Characterized by a quick mind and razor-sharp wit, he commanded his interpersonal relationships with endless humor. He was an inspiration to many and a friend to all. He will be eternally missed by all who had the fortune to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Lung Association, or a charity of choice.
