GORMLEY (nee Griffin), Ardythe Carol – age 75 of Nictaux, NS passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Monday, April 11, 2016. Born in Port Williams, NS she was a daughter of the late Joseph Lawrence and Mary Jane (Shaw) Griffin. Ardythe was retired from the housekeeping staff of Soldiers Memorial Hospital after 26 years. She had many interests including gardening, camping, fishing, yard sales, antique hunting, music and playing cards, but most important of all was her family and friends. She was also a member of the Nictaux Firettes. She will be lovingly missed by her husband William "Bill" Vaughan; son, John (Wendy), Middle Musquodoboit; daughters Veronica (Ken) Archambault, Greenwood and Bonita Gormley, Nictaux; niece/foster daughter, Debbie (Carl) Veinot, Nictaux; former daughter-in-law Teresa Donahue, Brickton; brothers Laurie Griffin, Halls Harbour, Richard (Carol)Griffin, Welsford, David (Sandra) Griffin, Upper Canard; two grandchildren Andrew (Suzann) Gormley and Chelsea (Dexter) Merrill and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ardythe was predeceased by her sisters Eileen, Kathleen, Verna and Mary and infant brother Robert. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday, April 15, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. A funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Monica's Catholic Church, Middleton with Father John MacPherson officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Red Cross or VON. A special thank you to Gary Laird (nephew), for his constant care and compassion as well as the VON nurses and all the VON caregivers.
