Obituary

BROWN, Arleen  Mercy ~ age 95 of Tremont, NS passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Pleasantville April 25, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Stephen "Paul" and Evelyne (Leary) Lantz. In her younger years, she was employed with the Dining Hall at Acadia University, the Car Hop at the White Spot Restaurant, New Minas and the diner at Wades in Kentville, where she met her to be husband Harley. Arleen was an avid rug hooker and she gifted many to her friends and family. She loved gardening, especially spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens. Arleen always kept busy and there was never an idle moment. She loved her family dearly, especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arleen will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Roy) Peterson, Aylesford; Margo (Dave) Edmunds, Cambridge; Mary Moretto (Joe Hayes), Kingston; son, Harold Brown (Tammy Wheelhouse), Bear River; sisters, Emily Conrod, Halifax; Phyllis Himmelman, Mount Pleasant; brother, Lloyd (Lila) Lantz, West LaHave; sister-in-law, Beatrice Reeves, Forties and brother-in-law, Ashton Reeves, Forties; grandchildren, Melisa (Adrian); Corey (Kathleen); Jason (Jess); Glen (Michelle); Mathew ( Jocelyn); Joel; Donald (Melissa); Cora (Lance); Christine (Jeff); TeJay (Nichole); Jesse; Craig; Kyle (Amanda); Bethany (Dennis); 18 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Harley; daughter, Beth; sisters, Pearl Schofield; Gladys Rhodenizer; Luetta Joudrey; brothers, Charles; Gordon and step grandson Corey Hayes. Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, January 3, 2019 in New Beginnings Center (People's 25:40 Church), 1151 Bridge St., Greenwood with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment will be in Tremont Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to People's 25:40 Church, Molly Appeal or to the charity of one's choice.
