................................
To my beloved Grampy, I know you are watching over me from Heaven. I can still feel your love and kindness. It has been a hard two and a half months knowing that you are no longer here on earth with us. We, your family, miss you. So much more than words can say, but knowing that you are now free brings so many feelings; Peace and happiness that you are now with the Lord. I still feel a longing for your arms around me one more time, and I imagine your smile and laughter often. The happiness you brought to your family and those around you is life-changing for all. These words are my final earthly good-bye to you but I will always feel your presence in my heart. I am grateful for you and my amazing Grandma. Without you two, I would not be the woman I am today, You gave me a place to stay when I felt lost, and love when I felt sad and lonely. Without your encouragement I don't think I would have been brave enough to get behind the wheel. Those driving lessons were definitely stressful. Though honestly I'm not sure who was more stressed, you or me! I am now about to become a married woman and I hope you will be watching on my special day. I know you would have loved him. I am sure he would have looked up to you as I have. You have always encouraged your grandchildren to be whoever they want; that we shouldn't let anyone hold us back. I have done that and I will remember you always. I regret that I am not able to be here today (Graveside service) but wanted to write my farewell so everyone will know that although heartbreaking, we share a special day. You went to be with the Saviour on my birthday. I will always share this day with you for the rest of my life. I love you, Grampy. Good-bye and farewell. Lauren (April 15, 2022)
