BAKER, Arthur Donald - 87 of Nictaux, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at home. Born in Prince Albert, Annapolis County, he was a son of the late Vernon and Sadie (Lyon) Baker. Arthur was born and raised on a farm and spent most of his life raising cattle. He was an employee at Scotian Gold for many years. Arthur was a quiet gentleman, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by son, Chris Baker; grandsons, Evan Baker, Kentville and Jacob Baker, Wolfville; sister, Marion Chute, Orono, Maine and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Bertha Lois Smith; sisters, Hazel, Myrtle, Ethel, Ruby and Mildred and brothers, Earl, Lloyd, Walter and John. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Nictaux Baptist Church with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Private family interment will be in the Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
