Acker, Arthur "Art" Douglas Jr. – Age 65 of Berwick passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at home. Born in Shelburne, he was a son of the late Arthur and Elisabeth (Bloemendal) Acker. Art worked for Sawler Gardens in many different capacities including forklift operator for 44 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked playing cards and working on puzzles. He had the gift to gab and would strike up a conversation with anyone who would listen. His family meant everything to him, and he truly appreciated them very much. Art is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Brenda; daughters, Jessica & Eleanor; Anissha (James); Kurt who were raised as his children; great granddaughter, Isabelle; sisters, Barbara (Jim), Linda (Darren); brothers, William, Robert (Nancee), Ronald (Alma); as well as several nieces, nephews, brothers & sisters in law, friends, and extended family. Besides his parents, Art was predeceased by his sister, Elsie; sister-in-law, Gail.  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2023, in Berwick Cemetery. Pastor Justin Halbersma officiating. A celebration of life reception will follow in the Berwick & District Fire Hall.
