DOHERTY, Arthur Gerald "Gerry" ~ Age 88, of East Kingston, Kings Co., passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023, at home. Born on June 26, 1934, in Montreal, Quebec, he was son of the late Charles and Eileen (Feely) Doherty. On July 5, 1951, Gerry enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and was discharged with the rank of Corporal on December 14, 1970. Surviving are daughters, Laura Doherty, Nictaux; Lynn Stevens, Aylesford; stepsons, Steven (Trudi) Bentley, Whonnock, B.C.; David (Sandy) Bentley, Middleton; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Mike) Bentley-Aalders, Nepean, Ont.; grandchildren, Jessica (Radu) Medrea and Julian Bentley, both of Vancouver, B.C.; Dana Bentley, Saint-Hubert, QC; Matthew and Emily Aalders, both of Nepean, Ont.; Joseph Foster, Hillsborough, N.B.; Anna (Allen) Vieluf, Port Hawkesbury; John Stevens, Auburn; great grandchildren, Charlotte, Josh, Silas, Natalie and Alexandru; sisters, Margarie (Edsel) Kenny, London, Ont.; Jean (Tony) Greig, Ottawa, Ont.; brother, Douglas (Beatrice) Doherty, Mississauga, Ont. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former Judith Ann Robertson; brother, Edgar (Noreen) Doherty; sister, Theresa (Stan) Harter. There will be no visitation. Memorial service will take place 2 p.m., Thursday, January 26, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448, with Rev. Allen Vieluf officiating.
