RITCHIE, Arthur Ronald ~ age 93 of Auburn, NS passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Auburn, he was a son of the late Laurie and Miriam (MacCarthy) Ritchie. Arthur was a long time business owner in the Annapolis Valley owning Ritchie Real Estate & Insurance; a well drilling and house moving business and was one of the first Fuller Brush Company sales representatives. He was a past trustee with the School Board and was instrumental in starting the community hall in Auburn. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Beverly (Ward); children, Michael (Elizabeth), Millville; Rebecca Ritchie (Arthur "Bub" Bachman), South Greenwood; David (Barb), Kingston; William, Aylesford; Mary (LeRoy) d'Entremont, West Pubnico; stepchildren, Gerry Ell, Auburn and Julie Moore, Aylesford; brother, Wayne (Gerry) Ritchie, South Greenwood; nine grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by daughter, Christie in infancy; sister, Geraldine; brother, Rodney; grandsons, Josef and Alexander; and step-grandson, Christopher. In keeping with Arthur's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held beginning at 2:00PM Sunday, March 15, 2020 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448 with a reception for family and friends to follow.
