Obituary

Slauenwhite, Arthur "Seldon" - 85 of Kingston passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Kingston, he was a son of the late Harry and Ella (Hiltz) Slauenwhite. Seldon lived most of his life in the Kingston area. He retired as an auto mechanic after 45 years and was known to be able to fix almost anything. Seldon worked at Milne's Garage, later Lorne Fraser's, Kingston, Paul Palmer's Farm Equipment, Berwick and also operated his own garage (Fina) in Greenwood for 13 years. He was a Charter Member of the Meadowvale Stock Car Club and a 65 year member of the I.O.O. F. Lodge, Kingston. He is survived by his wife the former Genevieve Winott - Newton, Kingston; daughter Bonny (Karl) Lightfoot, Melvern Square, step-daughters Kimberlee (Craig) Caldwell, Kingston and Pat McCall, Kingston. Sons Garry Slauenwhite, Melvern Square and Eric (Judy) Slauenwhite, Milford; step-sons Michael (Linda) Newton, Calgary, Shawn Newton and Scott Newton both of Regina, sisters Doris Martin, Gladys Toole and Linda (Alden) Neiley all of Kingston; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife the former Pauline Redden, sister, Alice Harris and brothers, Duane, George, Leland and Ervin. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9PM Thursday, September 5th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448, where the funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 6th with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. By request, family flowers only.
