WENDLAND, Arthur-93 of Middleton, formerly of Kingston passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 in Veteran's Unit at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Rostern, Saskatchewan, he was a son of the late Matthew and Martha Wendland. Arthur served with the Canadian Army during Second World War and later worked for Gulf Oil until his retirement. He loved reading, crossword puzzles and gardening. He is survived by sons, Bob Wendland, Kingston, NS; Tom (Yolanda) Wendland, Australia; sisters, Edna and Ruth, both of British Columbia and grandchildren, Kristin, Steve, Nellie, Madelinne and Samuel. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Nellie VanBergen, sister, Elizabeth and brother, Albert. Cremation has taken place. By request there will be no visitation or memorial service. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a Charity of Choice. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the nurses and staff of the Veterans Unit at Soldiers Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion shown to our dad.
