Obituary

VEINOTTE, Ashley Gale Mark ~ 40, of Edmonton, AB, passed away in his home on September 22, 2020. Born in Middleton N.S. on Jan. 29, 1980, he was the son of Emma Diann Veinotte, Mark and Marlene Veinotte.

Ashley grew up in the Annapolis Valley, NS, but resided in Alberta for the last nine years. He had a love for mechanic work. If it didn't work, Ashley wouldn't stop until it did. He wanted to pass on his knowledge of mechanics to his three year old son, Hunter, teaching him how to fix his battery powered truck. Ashley had a passion for hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors especially camping. Ashley would get his camper out and take whoever was available camping with him. He had a hidden passion for making wooden toys which excelled in.

Ashley left us way to soon. He was an avid collector of anything pertaining to Superman and will always be considered a Superman to his mother. Ashley was well loved by his family and everyone who knew him. He was always up for a few laughs. He was well known for his famous saying "DON'T USE THE LORDS' NAME IN VAIN"

Ashley is survived by his mother, Emma Diann Veinotte, Nictaux N.S.; father and step mother, Mark (Marlene) Veinotte, Nictaux, N.S.; sister, Tanya (Michael) Veinotte, Waterville, N.S.; brother, Jason Veinotte, Nictaux N.S.; step sister, Melissa (Jason) Crouse, New Minas, N.S.; son, Hunter Veinotte, Edmonton, AB; daughter, Summer Veinotte, Leduc, AB; nieces, Kristen, Haley and Kyleigh; nephews, Dylan, Logan, Jake and one great nephew, Holden. Ashley also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Ashley was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Lillian and Arnold Jones and paternal grandparents, Ruth and Owen Veinotte. Also an aunt on his father's side and an uncle on his mother's side.

In keeping with Ashley's wishes, cremation has taken place in Alberta. He will be brought back to Nova Scotia for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, in Nictaux Cemetery, with Pastor Jeff Milne officiating. A time in celebration of his life will follow at his mother's home, 9309 Highway 10, Nictaux. Memorial donations can be made to Kings County S.P.C.A.
