Obituary

Briner, Audrey Lynn, age 67, of Brooklyn, Annapolis County, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton.

Born in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Violet (Morrow) Hiltz.

Audrey was a dedicated and compassionate caregiver, working as a Continuing Care Assistant in home care, where she brought comfort and kindness to those in need. She also served in a vital role shuttling surgical supplies between hospitals with MBW Courier. Earlier in life, she worked for 15 years at Britex, where she formed many lasting friendships and built a foundation of hard work and dedication.

Audrey had a deep love for animals, especially horses. She was actively involved in organizations such as the North American Quarter Horse Association and The Exhibition, and she spent countless joyful hours at Sky Valley Farms in Norma's horse barn. Her passion for animals and the equestrian world was a defining part of her life. Audrey also loved motorcycling and travelling, always embracing the adventure of the open road and the beauty of new places.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, William S. Briner; son, Christopher "Brett" (Meagan) Thomas; daughter, Erin (Chad) Walker; grandchildren, Courtney, Abigail, Kephren, and Kylie; and great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Violet, Penelope, and Charlotte and Ellaya. She is also survived by her brother, Butch (Jean) Hiltz; sisters, Mary (Lloyd) Lockwood, Marleen (Rob) Eisner, and Susan (Kenny) Watton; brother-in-law, Lester Pierce; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Paul Thomas; brothers, Bill, Earl, and Jim Hiltz; and her sister, Charlotte Pierce.

Audrey will be remembered for her generous spirit, love of animals, and the deep care she gave to her family, friends, and community.
