MacQUARRIE, Audrey Ellen - 82yrs, of Middleton, NS passed away peacefully Sunday, July 28, 2013 in the Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton surrounded by her family. Born in Lawrencetown, NS she was a daughter of the late Jason and Elva (Gaul) Lowe. Audrey graduated from the V.G. School of Nursing "Class of 54". She practiced in several Ottawa Hospitals including 10 years at the Royal Ottawa Psychiatric Hospital. After retirement Audrey and Don lived in Middle River before settling in Middleton. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Don, Middleton; son, Lauchlin Duncan MacQuarrie, Ottawa; daughters, Dawn MacQuarrie (Barry); Trish MacQuarrie (Alex); Kay MacQuarrie (Ryan), all of Ottawa; grandsons, A.J. Buckle (Chelsea); Jake Buckle (Shirley) and granddaughter, Jemma Johnson, all of Ottawa; sister, Dorothy Lowe, Halifax; brother, Claude (Marion) Lowe, Lawrencetown; sister-in-law, Cathy Lowe, Middleton and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Rosie Beals; Lorraine Stillwell; Faye Crowell; Leila Merry; brother, Arthur and half-sisters, Elva East and Bernice Naugler. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, August 1, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be held 2:00PM Friday, August 2, 2013 in the Middle River Cemetery, Cape Breton.
