CHUTE, Avis Elizabeth age 88 of Greenwood passed away Tuesday, June 18th 2024 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Helen (Thurber) Brinton. Avis was a retired employee of Sears after more than 25 years of service, having worked in both Middleton and Greenwood. When she was able, Avis enjoyed spending time at the cottage at Zwicker Lake. She is survived by a daughter Nancy (Barry) Lavallee, Kentville; son Daniel Hannam, Stony Plain AB. Grandchildren Mike Lavallee, Kentville and Evan (Chantal) Lavallee, Banff AB and a great grandson Levi. Sisters Hilda Caldwell, Middleton and Marion Steadman, Lawrencetown, Annapolis Co.; brothers Richard Brinton SK, Ronald (Sue) Brinton, Wilmot and George Brinton BC. Avis was predeceased by her first husband Victor Hannam, her second husband Vaughn Chute and a sister Delma. Cremation has taken place and at Avis's request, there will not be any services. Interment will be held at a later date in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
