Obituary

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Barbara Lea McGill, age 56 of Middleton in the Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal on August 9th surrounded by her close family. She was in her 8th year of renal dialysis; however until the end she always remained very positive, cheerful and an inspiration to us all. Barbara was born October 11, 1958, the daughter of Lexie (Hiltz) Slauenwhite and the late Gerald Slauenwhite. She was a loving daughter, wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many. Before her illness prevented her, she worked for various places in the Middleton area and also on many elections. For quite some time she looked after the church and hall in Victoria Vale making sure they were always clean and/or decorated for the various functions and holidays. She had a special rapport with the many seniors she helped over the years, and a deep love for all children, especially her little friend Elijah. She is survived by her loving husband Fred, mother Lexie, sister Joanne (Frank) Caldwell, Airdrie, AB, Sharon (Peter) Guscott, Red Deer, AB, Joselyn (John) Craig, Chester, Giselle (Jim) Hayes, Nictaux, April (Mike) Illsley, Airdrie, AB; brothers Edmund (Jane) Slauenwhite, Lawrencetown, Perry (Janice) Slauenwhite, Annapolis Royal, Vincent (Cindy) Slauenwhite, Vernon, BC; brother-in-law, Jim (Colleen)McGill, Brooklyn; sister-in-law Carol (Ed)Merry, Halifax and many nieces and nephews.
