Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our loving mother, Barbara June Rhodenizer, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on April 28, 1942, in Berwick, Kings Co. She was predeceased by her husband, Eric Rhodenizer; son, Bryan Rhodenizer; mother, Thelma Veinotte; stepfather, Arthur Veinotte; brother, David Stoddard; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

Barbara leaves behind her children, David (Debbie) and Rodney Rhodenizer, of Garland; Martin Rhodenizer (Cindy), Calgary, Alberta; Darin Rhodenizer (Debbie), Garland; Kevin Rhodenizer (Sandra), Berwick; Kathy Frost (Brian), Springfield; Diane (Vern) Rhodenizer, Waterville; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ave Stoddart (our special angel); Alta Coleman; brother-in-law, Raymond.

Barbara was a hard-working woman, who raised eight children when times were tough. She helped her husband Eric with many of his business adventures. Barbara had also worked for M.W. Graves Ltd., Berwick and at the Cranberry Bog to make ends meet.  She had several hobbies in her younger years such as ceramics, decoupage, cross stitch, cake decorating, and cooking, which she took great pride in. But her favourite things were her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved her gardens so and worked in them right until she was bedridden.

A graveside service for both Barbara and Eric for family and close friends will take place at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 27, 2025 in the Berwick Cemetery, with Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to Victorian Order of Nurses ~ Annapolis Valley Branch. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Victorian Order of Nurses as well to Doctor Mulharen and Doctor Broaders and the staff at Valley Regional Hospital for all the care they have given to our mom in the past few years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Online guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
