Obituary

RODY, Barrie Joseph-65, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, April 19, 2010. Born in Moncton, NB, he was a son of the late G. Barrie and Mary (Mazarolle) Rody. Barrie served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1964 to 1992. He served with 404 MP Squadron, then 415 Squadron, Aurora Software Development Unit and Base Operations Greenwood. Barrie volunteered with the Greenwood Military Aviation Museum and was an avid sportsman, playing hockey, baseball, curling and golf. He is survived by his wife, the former Melva MacDonald; daughters, Patricia (Dale) Warner, Ajax, ON; Valerie Wentzell (Yan Cox), Middleton; son, Barrie Jr. (Janet), Santa Clara, California; brothers, Michael (Jill) Rody, Campbell River, BC; Patrick (Therese) Rody, Cocagne, NB; grandchildren, Tyler and Luke Wentzell; Eric and Alexandria Warner and Erin, Elsa and Sean Rody. He will also be missed by his furry companion Katie. By Barries request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday, April 22, 2010 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. The family wishes to thank the Victorian Order of Nurses and Mid-Valley Palliative Care as well as friends and neighbours for their many acts of kindness.
