Obituary

HELPARD, Barry Edward – age 63, South Waterville, Kings Co., passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Fairview, on March 31, 1952, he was a son of the late George Edward and Jean Pauline (Lloyd) Helpard. Barry was known as a lifelong musician and had played for C.B.C.'s "Countrytime" in the 1970's. His hobbies included scuba diving, carpentry, music and drag racing. Surviving are his wife, Angie Johnstone; loving children, Elisha, Eli, Matthew and Candice; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Sandra Caines. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Ezbon. In keeping with Barry's wishes following his death he has given a gift of life at the regional tissue bank with cremation to follow. No funeral will take place but a private celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the I.W.K. Health Centre Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1 (855) 825-3448.
