DEVEAU, Bernice "Alice"-age 88 of Victoria Vale passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in St. Croix Cove, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Frank Judson and Mary Beatrice (Weir) Poole. Alice was a member of the Victoria Vale Baptist Church, a life time member of the Spa Springs Women's Institute and a member of the Legion Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1 Middleton. Alice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and many friends and neighbours. She is survived by son, Allen (Juanita) Deveau, Wilmot; sister, Betty White, Wilmot; brother, Frank (Eleanor) Poole, Falmouth; granddaughter , Jancy (Ben), great-grandchildren C.J. and Shianne, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Joseph Albenie "Bennie"; brothers, Howard, Gordon "Lester" and Alton "Manasseh"; sisters, Harriett, Esther and Ethel "Peggy". Alice's family would like to express their appreciation for the care provided by the VON over the last year. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:30PM Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the Victoria Vale Baptist Church with Rev.Vaughan Henshaw and Pastor Heather Pearle-Gillis officiating. Interment will be in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Victoria Vale Baptist Church, Spa Springs Women's Institute or Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1 Middleton Legion Auxiliary.
