HUDON, Bertha Victoria ~ 89, passed away on November 22, 2018, in the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Facility, Middleton. Born in Grindstone, Ilse de la Madeleine, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Annie (Keating) Patton. Bertha loved her family and friends most of all. She also enjoyed baking and was always up for a good old fashion kitchen party, "the more, the merrier". Bertha was an Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1 Middleton and worked at CFB Greenwood as well as had her own boarding house. Bertha is survived by daughters, Pamillia Hudon, Kristell (Michael) Collins, grandchildren, Edward Chapplain (Maddy Parker), Andrea Chapplain (Chaunce Allen), many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, predeceased by husband, Gerry Hudon; brothers, Alton, Harold, Kenneth, Robert, William; sisters, Gladys, Ada, Phoebe, Robina and Hannah; son-in-law, Gregory Chapplain. At her request there will be no visitation, a memorial service followed by a reception will be held on Monday, November 26, at 2 p.m., in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902-825-3448) with Pastor Shelley Illsley - Martin officiating. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Donations in Bertha's memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
