WHITMAN, Betty Rosalind ~ age 90 of Lawrencetown, Annapolis Co., NS passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Lawrencetown, NS she was a daughter of the late Francis "Frank" and Olivia (Oickle) Veinott. Betty retired from Merry's Drug & Variety, Lawrencetown and prior to that she worked at the Lawrencetown Post Office. She was a member of the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church, past member of WMS and the Ladies Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed knitting and gardening and above all loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Michael (Sharleen) Whitman, South Williamston; grandchildren Miranda (Michael) Gates, Grande Prairie, AB and Crystal (Evan) Weaver, Brickton; great grandchildren Meghan, Mason, Connor and sister-in-law, Sadie Veinott, Middleton; nephews, Wayne, Kevin and Keith. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gene Whitman and brothers Ivan Veinott and Gerald Veinott. In keeping with Betty's wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, November 21, 2019 in the Whitman Cemetery, South Williamston with Rev. Eugene Foster officiating.
