Obituary

THIBODEAU (HORNER), Beulah Mae - 71, of Digby, passed away peacefully, on March 26,2015 at Digby General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Despite losing her husband Lloyd, last year, Mom faced each new challenge with tremendous strength. It was because of her will to survive and her determination that kept her strong until her last days. Beulah will be lovingly remembered by her girls: Ruth (Gordie) Adams, of Digby; Nancy Lewis, of St. Catharine's, Ontario; Pat (Paul) Thibodeau, Niagara Falls, Ontario; Gail Thibodeau, of St. Catharine's, Ontario; grandchildren, Melissa (Michael), Amanda (James), Leonard, Morgan (Allison), Amber, James, Andrew, Jacob & Barry. She is also survived by her sister Ann Wisecarver, of Virginia, USA: special cousins, Helen & Angus Hardy, Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia; and her in-laws: Marion Wilkins, of Digby; Helena (Roger) Winchester, Digby; Carolyn Given, of Digby; Maurice (Marlene) Thibodeau, of Oshawa, Ontario; Paul (Carol) Thibodeau, Lower Sackville; brother in law, Joe Clements of Halifax; 'special extended family', Nancy Buckman; of Tiverton; Kaye (Jim) Watts, of Freeport; Barbara Perry, of Freeport; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, Nancy Wheaton; twin sister (at birth), brothers, Paul Horner & Frank Horner; in laws, Tom Wisecarver; Ella Haynes; Geraldine Thibodeau; Evelina Thibodeau; Annie Mackenth; Blanche Clements; Eldred Thibodeau; brother in law, Stan Given; 'special extended family', Scott & Dorothy Perry; Delbert Buckman and Wayne Perry. Born in Halifax, she spent her childhood years in Digby, where she met and married her husband Lloyd. Although they lived away for several years, Digby was home and they returned to raise their family. Mom worked a few jobs, but her primary role was as a homemaker. Lloyd and Beulah shared their home and their hearts with many foster children over the years. The family has been reminded of this often over the recent weeks, just how many friends were touched by their kindness. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Black, for his palliative care, which enabled Mom to be cared for at home, until her last hours. It means a lot to have been able to fulfill this wish. And thanks to the nursing staff at Digby General Hospital for their compassionate care. In keeping with Moms wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate the lives of Beulah Mae Thibodeau & Lloyd George Thibodeau, will be held at a later date, with details to follow. Donations in memory can be made to the IWK, Halifax or a children's charity of choice. The family has entrusted Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1 (855) 825-3448 with arrangements and invite friends and family to leave memorial messages online at www.middletonfuneralhome.com ** Celebration of Life Service for Beulah & Lloyd Thibodeau will be held 2:00PM Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Grace United Church, Digby, Nova Scotia.
