LIGHTIZER, Blaine Archibald – age 80, of Greenwood, NS passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in East Kingston, NS he was a son of the late Joseph Archibald and Ruby Pearl (Baltzer) Lightizer. Blaine retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Department of Transportation. He enjoyed living at the family cottage in Donnellan's Brook, sport fishing, and going for drives to the South Shore or anywhere along the water. He loved spending time with family and friends; telling stories, playing guitar and singing. Blaine is survived by his wife the former Joyce Aldred of Greenwood; daughter-in-law Patti (Crocker) of Torbrook Mines; sister Judy Hiltz of Greenwood Square; grandchildren Miranda (Shane) Andrews and great-grandchildren Donald and Elizabeth. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Joseph and brother Glen. In keeping with Blaine's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2017 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448 with Rev. Leon Langille officiating.
