Obituary

Bent, Harold Robert "Bob" – 83, of Wilmot passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Annapolis Royal, he was the son of the late Donald and Dorothy (FitzRandolph) Bent. Bob grew up in Round Hill, Annapolis Co. After graduating from high school, he joined the Bank of Nova Scotia in Kentville, moving around to various branches with each promotion. His work history included being hired by United Elastic in Bridgetown as Purchasing Manager; Annapolis Valley Peat Moss as their accountant and eventually starting his own accounting business, Annavallee Accounting, from which he retired. Bob coached baseball for the "Round Hill Rockets" and umpired at many of the local games. He had a keen interest in genealogy, researched his family history, and often assisted others in their search for family roots. He was a keen bridge player. Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Norma Wilkins; his son, Andrew, Wilmot; daughter, Andrea Bent (Joe), Round Hill; sister, Ede (Ted) Weeks, Bridgetown; nieces, Paula Cress (Larry) and Tina Cress. Special thanks to Bob's cousin, Jane FitzRandolph for her support and expertise in navigating Bob's battle with Alzheimer's disease.
