Connell, Brenda Lee - 63, of Torbrook, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, in Valley Hospice, Kentville. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Phyllis (Turner) Oakes. She spent her working years always taking care of children whether it was her own or someone else that needed help. She always enjoyed being at the bingo hall or playing cards with her sister and family and friends who joined. Grammie also loved the special times she had with her grandchildren Sadie, Sophie, and Serenity and her great granddaughter Nora. Whether it was staying the night for a sleepover, going shopping, or just being together; their bond was especially close. Surviving is her loving husband of 46 years, Dwight; their children, Tanya Smith (Jonathan Lucas); Sandra (Freddie) Boudreau; Holly Connell (Jonathan Howatt); Jennifer (Simon) Bannister; Clifford Connell (Samantha Spring); Shannon Connell-Prescott (Andrew Schuhmann); Shawn (Samantha) Connell; grandchildren, Jocelyn (Temi), Justin (Chelsea), Emma, Amber (Sahil), Felicity (Nick), Shyan, Logan (Riley), Kara (Colten), Owen (Maddie), Abby, Mitchell, Hannah, Warren, Claire, Oliver, Cameron, Caleb, Cayden, Brielle, Georgia, Maddy, Sadie, Sophie, Khloe, Serenity; great grandchildren, Cristián, Ava, Aria, Elora, Nora, Lily, Amaya; sisters, Pam Turner, Patricia (Arthur Tompkins), and Elizabeth (Derek Caldwell); and her last surviving aunt, Helen "Honey" Oickle. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by great grandson, Kayson Clayton; brother-in-law, David Turner. Special thanks to the caring staff at Valley Regional Hospital and Valley Hospice. Visitation will be held 2-4 pm on Friday, June 27, (with cremation to follow the visitation).
