Obituary

Lenton, Brian "BJ" Joseph - Age 83 of Greenwood, Kings Co., passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born August 10, 1939, in Victoria BC he was a son of the late Tom and Lucie (Caseley) Lenton.

Brian was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Air Force for 33 years. His career included two postings to Baden, Germany which he reminisced about often. In November of 2017, Brian was presented with a medal from the Senate commemorating Canada's 150 th anniversary for his contribution to Canadian society. When he retired in 1989, he went to work at the Greenwood Golf Club which was a natural fit since he was golfing when he wasn't working. When he left the golf course, he went to work at Acadia University as a Commissionaire and even tried his hand at driving a school bus for a time before he finally settled into retirement.

Brian was an exceptional athlete and enjoyed golf, hockey, baseball, bowling and darts among other activities. He was an animal lover and often had one of his dogs on his lap when he sat down in his chair. He loved to travel and went on many golf trips with the "Fearsome Foursome" as well as his son Michael.  Annual trips to the Dominican Republic with Cheryl and their friends were planned with great anticipation. Brian was well known for his love of desserts and sweets so he was often spotted at the resort buffet loading up his dessert plate before the main course. It was, after all, vacation – rules went out the window!

He had a wonderful sense of humour and was kind and generous. We will miss his laugh, his whistling and his kindness. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Cheryl, son Michael (Vicki) Gaudet of Lawrencetown NS, daughter Shalla (Rosalie) Gaudet of Tatamagouche NS, brother Austin (Lynda) Lenton of Maple Ridge BC, Gary (Joy) Lenton of Sydney BC, grandsons Graeme and Robert Fotheringham of Ontario and cousins, nieces, and nephews from various locations.
