REDMOND, Bridget - age 80 of Nictaux, Annapolis County passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Bay de Verde, NL, she was a daughter of the late James and Maude (Doyle) Riggs. Bridget retired after 20 years as an Assistant Administrator with Adult Residential Center, Bridgetown. Prior to she was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton; Prince County Hospital, PEI as a X-ray Technician and spent 2 years with the Military Police in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Bridget loved curling, dogs, enjoyed quilting, and loved to relax watching her favourite cooking shows. She is survived by her son James Murray (Brenda), Bloomington, Annapolis County; her sister, Gertrude Broaders, Bay de Verde, NL; her brothers, Thomas Riggs, Wabush, NL; Gerald (Patsy) Riggs, Bay de Verde, NL; Andrew (Mary Lou) Riggs, Red Head Cove, NL and numerous nieces and nephews. By request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston Branch No. 98 with Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in St. Monica's Cemetery, Middleton. By request, family flowers only.
