Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic death of Burpee Leslie Banks (Master Corporal, retired) who passed away on April 14th, 2018 at the age of 67. Les retired from the Canadian Air Force after 22 years of service to join beloved coworkers at Frasers Pro Hardware where he spent 16 years as a hard worker. Les is the son of the late Earle and Nilda Banks and survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Elaine Banks; son, Kevin Banks (Ashley Gilliatt); granddaughter, Alylah Banks; sister, Marion (Loyson) Whitman; 7 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews. Les enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as tending to his garden where many nieces and nephews fed on fresh snap peas, raspberries and green beans picked by their beloved uncle. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 21st in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448 with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Our family would like to thank the continued efforts of Valley Search and Rescue, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Valley Fire Departments, Middleton Funeral Home, as well as our friends and family for the overwhelming amount of love and support. We ask that all donations be made to Valley Fire Departments and Valley Search and Rescue in Les' name. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
