Obituary

Carl Allen Spidell, 64, of Margaretsville, NS passed away suddenly on November 14, 2025. Born in Middleton, NS, he was a son of the late William and Helen (MacDonald) Spidell.

Carl held many trucking and logging jobs, from owning his own Mountain Ridge Logging company to trucking with Twin Mountain Construction, Evangeline Trucking, G.K. Morse Trucking Inc. as well as the Dept of Transportation in Berwick. Carl was a welder by trade however if anyone needed anything fixed or generally needed help, he was always ready to lend a hand. He loved his two daughters and taught them everything he knew about working in the forestry business and the value of hard work through the love of horses and riding.

Carl will be deeply missed by daughters, Morgan Corkum (Kevin), Bridgewater, NS; and Hayley Spidell, Smith, AB, along with his two granddaughters, Jessa Corkum and Ellie Spidell. He will be missed by siblings, Audrey McLaughlin (Dean), Landon, AB; Wenda McLaughlin (Eric), Margaretsville, NS; Christopher Spidell, Margaretsville, NS; Bernadette Knapp-Spidell, Middleton, NS; and Shawna LeBlanc, Chilliwack, BC; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Carl was also predeceased by beloved brothers Vincent and Darren Spidell.

In keeping with Carl's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026 in the Middleton Fire Hall. Private family interment will take place later in the spring.
