MORSE, Carol Joyce - of Middleton, NS passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, NS. She was in her 86 th year. Carol was born in Niagara Falls, New York and the eldest child of the late Clinton Lloyd and Ella Anna (Wells) Allen. In early years Carol was employed with Travelers' Insurance, John E. Lloyd Chartered Accountants and later retired from RBC Bank. Carol was a member of the Amateur Artists Association and a founding member of the Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia, Teachers Branch, Truro. Rug hooking was her life passion. The greater part of their married life spent in Halifax, revolved around badminton, playing Bridge, neighborhood gatherings and activities. Carol was an active member of their church choir and loved to play piano. She will be sadly missed by the love of her life, her husband of 66 years, "Charlie". Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and supportive friend to those who knew her. She will be remembered for her infectious smile. Besides her husband, Carol is survived by daughter Linda (Reginald) Verge, Halifax, NS; son Charles "David" Morse, Greenwood; brothers Lloyd (Shirley) Allen, Calgary, AB and Keith Allen, Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren, Nicholas (Rachel), Jessica, Kyle, great grandchild Ethan, many nieces, nephews and sister in law Ferna Morse. She was predeceased by sisters in law Dorothy Allen, Diane Allen and Janet Morse; brothers in law Alvah, Holmes and Donald; Carol's family wish to thank the staff of Soldiers' Memorial Hospital and Valley Regional Hospital, Doctor's Brooks and Burgess, as well as her special Home Care Supports and the staff and nurses of Sparrow Wing, Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown for their compassionate care. The friendship of Dorothy MacIntosh will never be forgotten by Carol's family. In keeping with Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St, (902) 825- 3448 with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. A reception will follow the service. Private family interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
